The Shed and the Tractor

After the cows left the land (which by agreement was a few months after we bought it) it became clear that we needed something to 'care for' all that grass. Hence... we needed a tractor. BUT without anything on the land, there wasn't any place to store it. Therefore, we needed a shed. So in August 2007 we had a shed built for the tractor and eventually other things. The shed was built over the old concrete garage pad at the old house site. (The previous house there had burned down a few years ago and the owners decided not to rebuild.) The color combination is a bit of a story. When ordering the metal, Jonathan called and asked me what color should the shed be? Typical shed in the area are red or green. Our neighbors sheds are red but the roof on his house is green. My response was either one. What we ended up with was both... a red shed with a green roof. I fondly refer to it as the "Christmas Shed" and have to admit that the color combo has grown on me (or I'm just used to it) either way-- its ok.
After the shed was done, we bought a used John Deere tractor (its yellow, not green) that thus far has served pretty us pretty well. Ok... it has served Jonathan pretty well; and the kids love to ride on it, too. Mostly, its used for mowing and post hole digging. Which leads onto to the next saga of the fence...
