Splints

We've had two more sets of twins. One set last night was born to #6 (our 1st second generation!!). Unfortunately, it was a wet and cold night. The first was a male and already dead (appearantly due to cold; she had cleaned him off.) The second was a female (#41) and strong but very cold. Jonathan was able to get her to take just a little bit of colostrum and brought her in for the night. Weak and shivering, she sucked down a few ounces of formula and slept most of the night. She woke up rearing to go and not wanting *anything* from a bottle. Fortunately, her mother took to her again in the morning and she appears to have done well today.
Pinto also had a set of twins. One girl and one boy. They are cute and doing well.

The first baby born still has had trouble walking with strong legs. As we put them out in the field, he's been dragging his back legs along to keep up with mom. They've actually started to form thick pink patches on them. To help protect them and help him walk better, we attempted to fashion him a set of splints using coban/vetrap, tongue depressor and electrical tape. He was dragging his legs a little less but not walking much better. We'll see if we can fashing something a little better in tomorrows light.
