Stakes are up!

Things are moving along pretty well these last few weeks. Some of the older goats are showing signs as if they are about to have their kids any day now. We just hope that they wait until the nights are not so terribly cold (which should be in the next day or so.) In the meanwhile, they've enjoyed their "freedom to roam" as we let them out to the pastures while we are out on the land to keep an eye on them.

As far as the house, we have a few more things (namely estimates and the appraisal) before financing can be finalized. We are in the works for the perc test/sewer permit. In order to get this, the house site needed to be staked out... so that's what we did today. The orange-tipped stake in the picture marks the north east corner of the house (this will be the mud room, just to Jonathan's right is where the dining room will be.) The picture below shows the view of Glade Mt. of the Blue Ridge Mtns (through the trees).

Beautiful! So which rooms will take advantage of that view of the Blue Ridge?

On the upper level, the dining room, great room and master bed room will face towards the Blue Ridge. On the lower level, the game room and kids bedrooms will also have the view. The house was pretty much designed for the view...
