Second floor

Fortunately, we've had two days of nice weather and the house has been coming along.

The second floor went on today (see picture from below and then picture from above with work in action.) In the picture with the ladder you can see that the opening for the base for the fireplace was cut out. More concrete was added to give the base as well.

The footers for the deck were getting ready to be poured and part of the decking was started today. (Pictures of that to come.)

With most of the leaves coming down, the view is coming into, well, view.

Sadly, we lost another goat today. It's quite heartbreaking as it is #17, the little one we bottle fed for months. She didn't grow as well as the others (including her head and horns were very small) and was clearly on the bottom of the ladder of hiercy BUT just last evening seemed to be doing well. She had had some scours but we treated her immediately and that seemed to have cleared up. Guess sometimes you just don't know.
