The house continues to take shape. The forms were taken off of the footers. Dirt was filled in on the edges (see 1st photo) and gravel in the center. The block was delivered with plans (if the weather holds) to have it stacked next week.
Even though we are bit passed the official 'groundbreaking' we had a little celebaratory picnic at the site. You may note the 'jobsite johnny' in the pic and the use of cinder blocks as make-shift seats.
We finally finished the laying boxes for the chickens. We made six little boxes that we lined with straw. If they are anything like our last chickens, they'll pick two favorite boxes and they'll ALL lay eggs in the same ones. We'll just have to see...
