Growing chicks, grass and a peach

The chicken coop is now occupied with growing chicks! They seem to get bigger every day. The coop is getting near completion. It needs just a few more boards and the fence on the outside and nesting boxes on the inside.

Jonathan hooked the tractor up to a spreader and spread some grass seed on the new places of road. It was just a few days ago and the grass is already sprouted pretty well (except in one place that washed out in a harsh storm the other night.)

We also were able to harvest our first peach from the new peach trees we planted last year. Its not much of a peach... but it is a peach. The old pear trees yeilded a bunch of pears. It appears that the deer have discovered them... so the kids picked a bunch and we had a pear cake this evening. Funny how there is more meaning to food that came from your crop.
As far as the house goes, we are waiting on the appraisal and the final set of plans.
