Chicks and Gravel

The most exciting news (which there is no photo) is that we got the revised house plans back. Not really sure what took the eight weeks, BUT we went over them and they are back to the company for finishing. The best thing is that we have new plans to go back to the back to get the process of an appraisal started.

As far as the house site goes, the road now has a nice layer of gravel on it. We now have a new appreciation for gravel... especially since we purchased it by the dumptruck load. (The kids were not allowed to throw rocks from the road in the pond and creek before... now that "occupation" is really off limits! )

We also recieved our shipment of red sex-link chicks this week. They arrived at the post office bright and early... and they called bright and early to request a prompt pick-up. They are cute... but noisy and smelly. They spent the fist few nights here in the living room in a box since we had a few rather cold nights. Now they are in their newly finished chicken coop. The outside fencing is being finished and they should be able to be out and about once they are a little bigger (and less likely to be easy hawk and snake snacks!)
