A hole?

A little bit of change while we are still waiting for the new house plans...

The house site was evened out... in some places a depth of eight feet (!) was moved. It is all smoothed out and the crawlspace area is dug. It's nothing but a hole... but, hey, it's a start!

This next photo is a glimpse of the view of the blue ridge mountains between the trees. A few more of the trees will invariably come down, but I believe that we'll wait until the house is in place for that decision.

Also, we have a new creek... no more marsh. And the creek bed appears to be mostly rock. It makes a nice babbling brook sound. It looks very muddy right now, but that should improve as the mud clears out and the green comes back. Jonathan has dubbed it "Money run" for reasons you may be able to infer.

And, last but not least, we have a few pears in our orchard. No apples or peaches this year... but hopefully enough pears for a tart or two.
