More excavation

As the homesite gets more clear, the pile o' trees gets bigger (see photo to the right.) Jonathan has purchased a new heavier duty steel chain saw to aid in turning the pile o' trees into firewood sized pieces. There is talk of possibly getting a wood splitter, too. It seems that spring is the best time to be doing this as there aren't any leaves on the trees. The question remains of what to do with the very rooted, mud-clodden stumps...
I think I have already mentioned that the boys
LOVE the bulldozer. Our nice excavator has given them rides ... which has caused them to believe that they must ride in the bulldozer everytime. Micah is riding in the photo on the left (just click on the photo to get a bigger view if you wish to see better.) This is down off of the ridge. This site is being cleared as it is where the septic system is going to be place.

The last photo is of the house site. It still just looks like a big pile of dirt in photos but it is much more cleared than a few days ago.

The rest of the farm life has been (thankfully) unremarkable. Baby goats are growing in leaps and bounds. #17 is staying the day at the farm and only nights in the house... she'll be at the farm 100% very soon. She gets along with the other kids just fine. She's a little behind on a few things (namely electric fence respect) but is getting there. Trixie and a few others are still yet to have their kids. Trixie is getting awfully wide in the middle... she's had triplets the last few years and it looks like this year may not be any different. We'll find out soon enough...
