The biggest move forward is we have made our first changes to the house plans and have sent them back to the draftsman at Turman. We should get the first revision back in 4-6 weeks. Since we don't have a scanner I tried to photograph the plans. It did not come out all that well, but you can get an idea. (Double click for a larger image.)
The next thing is that the fence continues to come along... only a small amount of the northwest perimeter posts to go in and then its time to wire it all in!! There's talk of giving the goats freedom to roam (and eat all the multi-flora roses...FINALLY!) Jonathan has even been adding some "visual touches" with boards at the main gates. Of note, the planned house site is right above the main gate -- to the left of the lovely pole.And... the goats. Well, we did have another mysterious loss of another goat about 2 weeks ago. No signs of illness at all. This
brings our count now down to 17. We have found a place that will do "post mordems" and plan that if we lose any more. Some kind of toxin is suspect. You know... those goats will eat anything! But we can't figure out what unless it is just too much of something that is ok in small amounts. The primary suspect for that is the maple tree. A few have gone crazy eating fallen leaves... those are now gone so if that was the culprit, it shouldn't be an issue. Oh... and they've decided that the manager -- in addition to holding hay -- makes a great goat bed.

Hey! Thanks for posting a link to this on Facebook. Karl and I had fun catching up on all of your plans. The land is beautiful and the house looks great, too.
Maybe we'll take a "working vacation" and come out for some fencing therapy some weekend!
