The logs are almost ready

Sorry for the duration of time between this and the last post but there has not been much action to speak about. Actually, there has been nothing. We were told that a saw was down for a week at the saw mill which then put our logs behind. Today, we found out that they should be all ready for tomorrow. Thus begins the coordination of delivery and working with the subcontractor for log stacking. Since the weather is supposed to be uncooperative for the rest of this week (the forecast is for snow) we can optimistically hope for things to start next week.

In the meanwhile, plastic was placed over the house to try to protect it from the elements. Not really sure that it helped a whole lot as rain, snow, dirt and leaves have found their way in... but it was a nice attempt. On a happy note, the hens have picked up on the eggs. We've been getting about 5 - 6 a day for the most part. By now everyone should know the answer to the question, "What's for breakfast?"
