In some ways it is good to report not much news on the farm. Compared to November, December has been much warmer which makes it less work to feed and water the goat herd. They are doing fairly well. Trixie had her hooves trimmed. She was in dire straights--those hooves were very unruly and causing her to walk abnormally. She must have been sore because she limped around for a few days but now seems to be back to herself. The perimeter fence is getting closer to being done. We've had lots of rain which is not conducive to pounding in posts, so Jonathan has been working on building a run-in shed in the SW field. Photos of that yet to come. As for the house, the second revision should be going back to the company this week which means the final version will be done a few weeks after that... then we (literally) will need to get down to business on the the house building. "Back by popular demand" I've posted a few very short more video clips. The first (in the first seconds) shows the art of how a goat scratches its back with its horns. I am personally quite charmed by this feat. The second shows a little head butting action which we don't encourage, but happens a little anyway.
